Overview
I built FrostGuard, an intelligent cold-chain monitoring solution for the F&B industry. It uses IoT sensors, AWS cloud services, real-time alerts, and a live dashboard to automate temperature, humidity, door status, and stock monitoring. This matters because traditional cold-chain checks often rely on manual logging, which is time-consuming, unreliable, and vulnerable to human error. FrostGuard helps businesses prevent spoilage, maintain food safety compliance, and respond quickly when refrigeration conditions become unsafe. FrostGuard uses an M5Core2 device connected to ENV III, light, and ultrasonic sensors to collect refrigeration data. The system sends telemetry through API Gateway into AWS Lambda, stores readings in DynamoDB and S3, triggers email alerts through Amazon SNS, and displays live conditions on an S3-hosted dashboard. I worked on the system concept, AWS architecture, sensor integration logic, alert workflow, dashboard structure, and presentation of the full edge-to-cloud pipeline. What makes it compelling is that it turns a simple refrigeration monitoring problem into a scalable, cloud-based system with real-time visibility, automated compliance logging, and future potential for predictive AI.
Problem: An AWS-powered IoT system that monitors refrigeration conditions in real time to protect food safety, inventory, and compliance.
Outcome: FrostGuard improves cold-chain reliability by replacing manual checks with automated 24/7 monitoring, real-time alerts, cloud data storage, and historical analytics. It supports F&B managers, compliance officers, warehouse staff, and inventory managers by giving them faster visibility into refrigeration failures, safer inventory handling, and stronger audit readiness.
